Sunday marked the 10 year anniversary of The Family Minute. 10 years ago, on October 4th, 1999 The Family Minute began airing on radio station KEX in Portland, Or. Since then we have grown to over 160 stations in 38 states reaching 2.4 million listeners each week. Over the last 10 years we have received thousands of comments from listeners and subscribers about how The Family Minute has impacted or encouraged them. We truly appreciate and cherish these comments. They are what keep us going! Below is one of my favorites:
“I just wanted to let you know what a difference your Family Minute makes to me. I am a single mother. My daughter will be 6 years old this month. I was 19 when I had her and I have always supported her on my own. There are so many struggles being a single parent and a million sacrifices are made. When I read what you wrote I was moved to tears. I feel like no one understands what I go through, how hard it is to have no ‘me time’. I have no friends and I do nothing that most 25-years-olds get to do. I felt like you completely understood the situation and although I don’t know anyone who will lift some of the ‘burdens’ so to speak, just reading what you wrote made me feel like at least one person in the world understands. Thank you for doing what you do.” – Amy
