You probably knew this already, but I own the content on this website. It is copyrighted in my name. I really want there to be a fair balance between spreading my content around while at the same time protecting my intellectual property rights. I really appreciate you understanding.

You are free to do the following without my permission:

  1. Link to or any specific post on my site.
  2. Take and repost less than 200 words on any other site, given that you link back to my original post.
  3. Print my posts in any non-commercial publication (e.g., company newsletter, church newsletter, etc.), provided that you include this copyright notice: “© 2014, Mark Merrill. All rights reserved. Originally published at”

Re-posting and Translation Rights

I do not permit the re-posting of my posts in their entirety. This is because Google penalizes websites for publishing duplicate content. It often can’t tell which site hosts the original, so I risk getting penalized for granting permission.

In addition, I don’t allow the translation and publication or of my work in other languages. I don’t have the resources to validate the quality of translations.

Please note: I reserve the right to delete comments that are offensive or off-topic.

    Hi Mark,

My name is Roy Wyatt and I am currently an author of two books. My first was written referencing college students in hopes of ensuring everyone entering college has a better chance of graduating. With the drop-out rate continually climbing, I thought something was needed to better prepare students, especially fresh out of high-schoolers.

My second book was just recently published referencing my current field of work – security. Most
officers pursuing careers in this industry need to understand and be prepared for the expectations from all angles. Not knowing this creates undue turnover that can be avoided.

The next book is one I have been working on, intermittently, for a while and think it’s something we
all can benefit from, but particularly the younger generation. With all the professional knowledge we have, I think this need to be disseminated among the people. Too often we only affect the people in our area, or circle of networking friends, but information can we widely spread to affect more people and make a difference in someone else’s life. As a result, my next book is filled with significant life topics that are relevant to everyday living that people need to be aware of. Armed with this information, it could enhance or improve the lives of so many people.

In researching information on certain topics, I came across your article entitled” 5 traits of a successful marriage, and thought it was well written and very informative. If it’s okay with you I would love to include this article in my next book. As requested, I will link this back to your website with copyright information.

Let me know if that will be okay? You can email at

Thanks for your time and looking forward to hearing from you
