Riding the Roller Coaster

< 1 min read

My son, Grant, and I got stuck in the airport and had to stay overnight instead of going home as planned.  Other times, I might have gotten irritated, but this time he did. “This is really annoying,” he barked out. My response? “Grant, it’s like being on a roller coaster. You can either ride with a scowl on your face and clinched fists holding the bar, or you can smile, let go and raise your hands in the air and enjoy the ride!  It’s your choice.”

I’m curious. How do you and your kids handle the ups and downs on life’s roller coaster?
