Healing Words Need to Be Heard

One of the best examples of a true apology was in the movie Fireproof. Watch below as Captain Caleb Holt pours his repentful heart out to his wife Catherine.

What a beautiful example! This is one of my all-time favorite movies. I highly recommend this movie to all couples. Thank you for sharing with us today.

Mark, I love your FMs. Just be careful about telling people to apologize whether they are at fault or not. I totally agree with your intent. But many abuse victims, for example, or told by pastors to reconcile with their abusive father/brother/uncle, and as they apologize, they are shredded again by the abuser. Forgiving someone, anyone, between us and God is always appropriate, for our own peace. But forgiveness is not reconciliation; reconciliation often requires repentance. Thank you for all you do.

    I agree with you…

This is by far one of the best movies I have ever seen! I give it as part of a wedding gift. I think it should be seen by everyone in a relationship. It really makes couples think about forgiveness and doing things for each other with out expecting anything in return.

Haven’t seen the movie. Wow.. if my husband could ever give me the true heartfelt and honest apology like that… it would give me finally the place in my heart that I and our marriage so longingly need.
