Working “on” the Organization

Have you ever taken time to stop and examine things from a bird’s eye view? Do you schedule time away for reflection? Recently I was able to do just this. It was a nice change of pace. I was able to get out of the middle of the “grove” and I was able to work “on the grove.” Here’s what I mean…

Do you think getting away is important? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I just recently learned how to get away to look at my career and at the direction my family is heading. The perspective I gain from a “bird's eye view” is incredible, helping me make some major changes. In many ways it is like a football coach looking at film of a game or of a practice: a chance to see things that are missed in the heat of the action.

Dennis, so glad to hear that you have gained better perspective and have had major changes in your life as a result!

Amen Mark! Every 90 days, my wife and I take a trip to get away and reflect. It helps us look at the big picture on both my personal and professional life. Gaining a different perspective away has actually help reaffirm how blessed we are, or what we need to change.
